ProFoam Process For Car Interior Parts

Arburg uses the physical foaming ProFoam process for the production of passenger car interior parts while achieving high-quality, high-gloss surfaces with dynamic mold temperature control technology. The basic principle of ProFoam technology is to infiltrate and foam through supercritical nitrogen before the raw material enters the barrel, which has the advantage that no additional shearing and mixing features need to be provided on the screw. With Profoam technology, it is possible to inject lightweight, stable and non-deformable parts that have a homogeneous foam structure. Compared to the traditional injection molding process, the obtained parts can not only reduce the weight by more than 13%, but also increase the average length of the reinforcing fibers.
