Characteristics Of RPM Technology
The process of rapid prototyping is to first create a 3D CAD solid model or surface model file of a product and convert it into a specific file layout. Then use the corresponding software to “cut” a series of slices of the set thickness from the file, or cut a series of slices directly from the CAD file.
These layers accumulate in order or are the shape of the part being designed. Then, the data of each of the above layers is transferred to a rapid automatic molding machine, using a material addition method and using a laser as a heating source. Each layer is sequentially sintered or sintered and the layers are joined simultaneously until the entire part is completed. The molding material is various sinterable powders such as paraffin, plastic, low melting point metal powder or a mixed powder thereof.
