SIPA Develops New System For Injection Stretch Blow Molding Machines

SIPA is an Italian machine manufacturer that developed a rapid die change system for its ECS SP single-stage injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) machine, which reduces conversion time by approximately a quarter.

The SIPA ECS SP system is suitable for the production of special products such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care products and spirits containers, especially containers of 20 to 50 ml. The new features add extra security and user friendliness to the operator, especially for certain critical operations.

Two models are available: ECS SP 50 with an injection clamping force of up to 5 kn and an ECS SP 80 with 800 kn injection clamping force. The system includes a new automated program for loading and unloading preform cores; additional sensors are included to ensure that the mold opening stroke is properly adjusted to the length of the preform.

The assembly and disassembly of the collar plate has also been modified. SIPA is now patenting this newly developed system, which can now be safely executed by one person without the need for two operators to work.
