Applicability Of Gas Assisted Injection Molding Technology

Gas-assisted technology has made it possible to use injection molding for many parts that could not be injection molded by traditional processes. It has been obtained in almost all plastic parts such as automobiles, home appliances, furniture, electronic devices, daily necessities, office automation equipment, and building materials. Wide range of applications and as a challenging new process opens up new applications for plastics forming. Gas-assisted technology is especially suitable for the production of injection molded products in the following aspects:

(1) tubular, rod-shaped products

Such as handles, hooks, chair armrests, shower heads, etc. The hollow structure can save raw materials and shorten the cooling time and production cycle without affecting the function and performance of the product.

(2) Large flat parts

Such as car dashboards, interior trim grilles, foreign military aircraft and parabolic satellite antennas. By setting the air passage in the workpiece, the rigidity and surface quality of the product can be significantly improved, the warpage deformation and surface depression can be reduced, the clamping force can be greatly reduced, and a larger workpiece can be formed by using a smaller device.

(3) Complex structural products with thick and thin walls

Such as televisions, computers, printer casings and internal supports and exterior trims. Such products are usually not molded at one time by conventional injection molding techniques. The use of gas transmission technology improves the freedom of mold design and facilitates the integration of accessories, such as the internal support required for the Panasonic 74cm TV housing and the number of external decorative parts from the conventional injection molding process. The reduction of 17 to 18 can greatly shorten the assembly time.
