Material Addition Manufacturing Method
The material addition manufacturing method, also known as Rapid Prototyping Manufacturing (RPM), is a high-tech achievement. It includes molding methods such as SLS, SLA, SLM, and integrates modern scientific and technological achievements such as CAD technology, numerical control technology, laser technology and material technology, and is an important component of improving the manufacturing technology of the predecessors.
Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, rapid prototyping starts from the CAD geometry of the part, and through software layered discrete and numerically controlled molding systems, the material is stacked by laser beams or other methods to form solid parts. Because it transforms complex 3D manufacturing into a series of 2D manufacturing overlays, it is possible to produce virtually any complex form factor without the use of molds and tools, greatly improving productivity and manufacturing flexibility.
Together with manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, forging, metal cold spraying, and silicone mold, rapid automatic forming has become a powerful means for modern model, mold and parts manufacturing. It is currently a single piece or small batch for metal parts suitable for China’s national conditions. The effective method of sensitive manufacturing has been widely used in aerospace, automobile and motorcycle, home appliances and other fields.
