Characteristics Of Surfacing Welding Repair Technology
Compared with general TIG welding, laser surfacing welding has the characteristics of small welding input heat, no need for preheating and post-weld treatment, making it possible to perform fine precision surfacing welding in the past.
Since TIG welding is a high-heat melting workpiece and a surfacing material on the one side of the welding torch, the welding welding speed is fast, and the welding strength is large. However, due to the large input heat, the workpiece is easily deformed, causing secondary undercuts and stresses; and, due to the large number of burrs (flash), the machining, EDM processing time is long, and the cost is increased. In addition, TIG welding is not suitable for small parts such as pin-shaped tips, grooved bottoms and sides.
On the other hand, laser surfacing welding is a point-like irradiation of a pulsed laser, and the heat influence on the workpiece is extremely small, and the deformation of the workpiece and the secondary undercut are not caused. The laser welding operation can be performed while confirming the weld overlay portion with an attached microscope. Moreover, since the focus of the microscope and the distance of the laser focus are continuously adjusted, accurate irradiation of the weld overlay portion can be performed.
Of course, compared to TIG welding, if a large number of surfacing is performed with a laser, there is a disadvantage that the welding speed is slow. However, the laser welding precision is extremely high, and the finishing time and cost can be reduced, and the narrow groove, the bottom of the hole, the inner corner and the like can be welded by welding, so it can be considered that the laser welding is repairing the metal for plastic molding. The best technology for the mold.
