DuPont Will Invest In East China To Build A Special Material Manufacturing Base

During the first China International Import Expo, DuPont announced that it will invest more than US$80 million in East China to build a new manufacturing base in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2020 and will be expanded in 2023.

It is reported that the production base will be located in Jiangsu Yangzijiang International Chemical Industrial Park, which is mainly used to produce high-end engineering plastics and adhesives to meet the growing market demand of professional materials focused by DuPont Transportation and Advanced Materials.

During the Expo, DuPont management signed the investment agreement with the leaders of the Zhangjiagang City Government.

“We see significant growth potential in specialty materials in China and Asia, and this investment reflects our commitment to this market.” Mr. Randy Stone, Global President, DuPont Transportation and Advanced Materials Division, said .

“We have an insight into the strong demand for DuPont’s advanced polymers and their solutions, especially from end users such as electric and hybrid vehicle manufacturers. We believe that the new manufacturing base will help us better support the development of the industry. He added.

The new line mainly produces DuPont nylon engineering plastics, homo-formaldehyde resins, thermoplastic polyesters and thermoplastic elastomers, lubricants and specialty silicone materials. The base will also include a new production line for automotive adhesives, while planning to produce other specialty products in the future, will become the new DuPont’s first cross-business manufacturing base in China.
